Karmic Angels inaugurate Nursery School for Sitanuku



Karmic Angels, an international registered charity operating in the UK and The Gambia last week officially handed over a newly built nursery school to the community of Sitanuku, Upper Niumi district North Bank Region of the Gambia at a ceremony held at the village.
The nursery school made up of a three class room block with office space and three toilets for students and teachers.

The charity is a brainchild of British couple Alan and Stephanie Turner and since inception in 2008; it has built various schools and sponsored students in different schools in the Gambia.
Their focus area of intervention includes health, agriculture, sports and education.
Governor Lamin Queen Jammeh who is also a native of the village hail the humanitarian gesture of Karmic Angels, describing them as “true friends of Sitanuku”.
He said the school will go a long way in helping the village have access to education for their children adding that it will also complement of efforts of the government.
There cannot be any development without unity and strength which Karmic Angel and Minyata Kafo have, he said of the two associations which partner to build the school.
Governor Jammeh urges others to emulate the good work of Karmic Angels in helping poor rural populace saying: “Any good work is rewarded by God knowing or unknowingly.”
Educating a nation is great pride, he stressed.
The vice chairman of Karmic Angels, Kebba Lang Sonko noted that KA began building the school which worth over D500, 000 for the community of Sitanuku in July 2012 and completed in January 2013.
He said the school was built to complement government efforts towards the attainment of vision 2020 and other government blue prints as well as providing education to ordinary Gambians.
The education cluster monitor for Albreda Cluster, who deputized for the regional education director of NBR Mr. Saikou A. Njai said childhood care and service has been institutionalized in the country though informally under the department of community development and said the nursery will avail children to learn basis before enrolling in primary school.
He remains confident that the school will go a long way in brining nursery education closer to the community while commending the sponsor for ‘job well done’.
The Director and co-founder of Karmic Angels Alan and Stephanie Turner resolve their unflinching commitment towards helping Gambians in various sectors.
Meanwhile, the charity also gave the orphaned children of Sitnauku valuable items.
In separate but related development, Karmic Angels also donated medical assortments to Farato Medical Post as part of it efforts to contribute to the health care system.
The Charity has also secured a land in Suma Kunda for the construction of a class room block for the community as their next project.
